British Nail Bloggers Do BCAM: Day 3

Happy Hump-day everyone! Where is the week going? It’ll be the weekend again before you know it!

Today is Day 3 of the British Nail Bloggers BCAM Manicure Mini-Challenge.

The biggest risk factor for breast cancer, after gender, is increasing age – approximately 81% of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50. This doesn’t mean that us younger folks won’t get it, but it does mean you should be especially vigilant if you’re over 50! I found this bit of info quite interesting – breast cancer can run in families, but fewer than 10 per cent of cases are as a result of an inherited faulty gene. So you won’t necessarily get it just because someone else in the family did.

Here is my manicure!

I’m particularly proud of this one. I considered trying to use striping tape but it all got very confusing and ultimately, I love the way the shapes have come out all different because I did them freehand. The base coat is Models Own Northern Lights (can’t get enough of that colour, seriously) and then I added the shapes using Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Models Own Strawberry Tart and Miss Sporty 485. It’s all sealed in with a gorgeously glossy top coat of Seche Vite.

  4. So lovely. I agree, this design, freehanded is so perfect, because it’s not all uniform and boring, so pretty. Makes me think of stained glass windows if those guys in the Middle Ages liked pink.
