Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge Day 4: Monochrome

As demonstrated by the Digital Dozen a few weeks ago, monochrome doesn’t necessarily mean black and white. That’s the domain of achromatic. Monochrome can mean “shades of one particular colour.” If there’s one colour I seem to own a lot of shades of now, it’s brown.

This design was inspired largely by the mosaic nails I did for Breast Cancer Awareness Month last year. It’s not particularly original, but it is striking!

Once again, I used quite a few polishes in this. The base colour is e.l.f. Desert Haze. The other colours were all freehanded with a brush, and they are:

Barry M Mocha
e.l.f. Smoky Brown
Barry M Mushroom
Claire’s Accessories Brown
Nails Inc Richmond Terrace

What colours do you find you own a lot of? I also have a boatload of reds. I now understand how it is possible to own so many shades of the same colour – they are absolutely not all the same.

Check out the other Monochrome manicures posted today!

There’s still time to sign up at the Polish Passionistas facebook page! Tomorrow’s prompt is Contrast.
