Liquorice Allsorts divide opinion. Either you like them, or you don’t. If you don’t like them, then this polish is definitely not for you. However, if you do, then you will LOVE the smell of Models Own Sweet Shop Liquorice Allsorts. It’s by far the strongest of the collection, and continues to smell for many, many hours after you’ve applied it. It’s also one of the thickest, gloopiest, bestest black polishes I’ve come across in a long while.
I couldn’t help but do some Liquorice Allsorts themed nail art – I’ve done it on the blog before previously so I tried something a bit different this time. I even threw in a sneaky peek at Gumballs – the pink polish. I only need one coat of Liquorice Allsorts on the three black nails – it’s that thick and opaque. The application is great – but a little bit difficult for nail art. On the other two nails I applied striping tape over Models Own White Light and Gumballs, and struggled a little to get clean lines when I pulled the tape off.
I used Ciaté caviar on the other nails to mimic the yummy jelly sweets you get in with liquorice allsorts. Wearing a full nail of caviar can be a bit much but adding a little bit at the cuticles is much less hassle and still looks pretty fab, in my opinion.
This is a wonderfully glossy colour on its own but I’ve added Ciaté Speed Dry Pro top coat here, to seal in the design. What do you think? Are you a liquorice allsorts lover or hater?
