Traditionally the 31 Day Challenge happens in September – this is when everyone else did it. I too did it, after a fashion. I more or less kept up with the actual nail designing from day to day – I just didn’t manage to post any blogs on the subject. I’ve done too much lovely work to hide it all away though, so as of today I’m having my only little 31DC2015. I hope you don’t mind!

I buy SO much polish these days it’s embarrassing. I have to confess I rarely seem to get through them all and there are many, too many polishes sitting in a box because I haven’t got around to wearing them. And to top it off, I still have favourites. Despite having enough polish for a different colour every day ALL YEAR I still reach for the same ones when I’m refreshing my mani! So I thought I’d let you in on what has mostly been on my nails this month.
I’ve had this slightly ridiculous design in my To-Post pile for months and months and I don’t know what’s taken me so long. Without further ado, I bring you SHEEP.
I’m really not joking – I own several graffiti polishes now. I see one and I can’t help myself – I’ve have to have its… graffiti-ie goodness. When Maybelline brought out their Street Art collection I few months ago I bought all four. When I’m not sure what to wear on my nails, I reach for graffiti polish. It is the super-stylin’ way to liven up ANY design.
Yes, I did just say super-stylin’. I’m hip.
I’ve been looking forward to this challenge. For real, I’ve been thinking about what to do with this for weeks. How often do you pull out lots and lots of different polishes and just throw them all together in one random design? I almost can’t believe I’ve never done it before. This is one heck of a Kitchen Sink design!
I’m quite good at finding a bargain. I’m also
a cheapskate financially efficient. These two combined mean that there are some really, really cheap polishes in my collection. I thought I’d be showing you the All About Nails collection from Tesco which I picked up for a mere 29p each last year but it turns out I have something even cheaper. No, today I have Claire’s Accessories polishes that I bought for a whopping 20p each. (When Claire’s sold off all of their old label bottles at 5 for £1 last year.)
If you’ve seen any of my posts from the challenge so far you’ll know that I’ve mostly posted Indies so far. Finding another Indie for today’s prompt was not difficult. But I was determined to use something a bit different. So I have another Nelly Polish for you today and a brand that has never been posted on this blog before: WRK Nails.
I’m quite partial to Jelly polishes. I really love that squishy, yummy looking finish. That being said, I don’t own very many – it seems they’re generally only made by Indie brands and I can never find them or they’re hideously expensive! So I was pleasantly surprised when this one dropped through my door in a Tara’s Talons Treasure Trove box in January. This is Feeling Festive:
I have a small confession to make regarding this post. When I saw the prompt I knew exactly which untried polish I was going for: Models Own Jack Frost. I’ve just never quite worked out what to do with it. I started with a gorgeous gradient involving two untrieds and one polish that has only been used once. I applied my shiny, shiny coat of Jack Frost, took my pictures… and then found out it isn’t untried. I have managed to use it twice, albeit not very prominently. After much deliberation, I decided to post it anyway – after all, this is still a Frost manicure with untrieds in, right? I haven’t totally missed the point?
