Stamping! And cats! And purple! Oh my!

Things went a bit mad after I posted Day 4 and I’ve not been very well but I’m not giving up. The plate I used for Day 5 is probably the closest thing to perfect I’ve ever own. I own hundreds of plates but if I had to choose only a few that I could keep this would definitely be on the list (along with Apipila Plate B – you’ll see that one soon, I promise!) This is Messy Mansion MM48 and it is the plate which started my love affair with Rainbow Connection.
So in amongst working on the 31 Day Challenge for this year (I realise everyone else did this in September, but life has a way of not giving me a break and I’m still doing it!) I’ve been reorganising my picture folders. It turns out I have a lot of really cool designs I never got around to posting. I’m not in the habit of wasting work so I’ll be sharing them with you anyway! Here is one from last year’s 31 Day Challenge that never made it as far as the blog. The theme was Half Moons.
I’d hoped that when I finally posted back in February I was back but it was not to be – life has just been too hectic! I have something for you today, and it is stamping. My stamping plate collection has exploded over the last several months, as has my stamper collection… but more on that another time. When I picked up a few of the most recent Barry M offerings, the Speedy Dry collection, there was one plate that jumped right out at me and begged to be paired with them:
I’ve only posted once in November? No! What a ridiculous month it’s been!
If you’ve got a free weekend (I haven’t 😦 ) then you might like to have little look at this competition by Quiz Clothing and Beauty UK – you’d better be quick though, because the entries close tomorrow!
One of my favourite ways to create nail art is to be inspired by pretty things. I posted a design back at the beginning of November inspired by a gorgeous Quiz Clothing dress I bought for my cousins wedding. Quiz Clothing agree this is a fabulous idea and are running a competition asking bloggers to be inspired by their beautiful dresses and create some gorgeous nails!
I quickly rustled up another Quiz Clothing inspired nail design to show you that it needn’t be complex in order to be gorgeous!
It’s Halloween today! Are you ready?! Don’t worry if your nails are still bare, I’ve got TWO really quick ideas for you today!
As I mentioned yesterday, I don’t do Halloween, but I’m going to a gig tonight and it seemed the perfect excuse to adorn my nubbins with something a bit different. As I’ve been watching Dexter for the last several months (just started Season 5, no spoilers!) I really wanted to try out blood spatter!
It has been a while since I posted! I’ve been moving house, and then not having any space to paint or photograph nails, and there has been all kinds of other boring and stressful stuff. But enough about me, let’s get back to some nails!
I painted this gorgeous gradient as a base for She Sells Seashells graveyard stencils, but they somehow got mislaid in the move. 😦 Instead I used them as a base for some stamping with a new MoYou London Gothic plate – this one is No. 07. How fab (and different) is this cobweb?
Happy Friday all! I hope you’ve been enjoying my Sweet Shop inspired designs this week. I have saved my favourite until last. One and all, I give you: Fizzy Cola Bottles.
When I first saw the bottles for Pear Drops and Rhubarb and Custard, I wondered why Models Own were releasing two colours so similar to each other. However, when you apply them, it becomes apparent that the two colours are very different. Whereas Pear Drops is an orange-red jelly with very fine glitter, Rhubarb and Custard is a deep red with textured grains of shiny glitter in it:
Today is the turn of the pink polish of the Sweet Shop collection: Gumballs. Of all the five sweets represented, gumballs are the one that I never really liked. That said, the smell of this polish still makes my mouth water.
