Tested: Primark False Nails

I caught on Twitter a few weeks ago that someone was trying out some false nails from Primark and that they were pretty good. So when I was in there last I picked up a packet to try them out for myself. At £1 for 24 nails I wasn’t expecting the earth but I was really, really surprised. These nails are great.

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Least Expensive

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Least Expensive

I’m quite good at finding a bargain. I’m also a cheapskate financially efficient. These two combined mean that there are some really, really cheap polishes in my collection. I thought I’d be showing you the All About Nails collection from Tesco which I picked up for a mere 29p each last year but it turns out I have something even cheaper. No, today I have Claire’s Accessories polishes that I bought for a whopping 20p each. (When Claire’s sold off all of their old label bottles at 5 for £1 last year.)

Spring Flowers + Julep Contest

Spring Flowers + Julep Contest

Please vote for this design in Grazia’s Manicure Monday competition this week!

A double post day – I’ve got so many great designs to share with you that if I don’t double post I’ll never get through them all. Be sure to keep reading for news of a Spring Nail Art Competition that might interest you!

Today is another spring inspired design. A few weeks ago, One Nail To Rule Them All posted about a special sale of Ciate at Vente-Privee. I went to have a look and was really chuffed to pick up a nail art set called Bada Bloom. It has dried flowers in it and they look so pretty! I paid £7 for the set and the retail price is £18… that’s a lot of money for a few dried flowers. (And a Ciate polish, admittedly. But I am cheap.)

So in order to save you money, I scoured the internet looking for dried flowers. As it turns out, they’re not difficult to find. I picked up a little wheel of them on eBay for £1.99. That’s a saving of £16.01 if you don’t really want a Ciate polish to go with them, and I promise you they look just as good.

Thermal. Or Not.

Thermal. Or Not.

When I discovered a thermal polish at Poundland I was SO excited. I really, really want a thermal polish – along with jelly and glow in the dark polishes they seem to be the preserve of indie brands and are thus (justifiably) expensive. Thermal polish for £1? What a coup! I rifled through the three or so different colours and settled on a beautiful purple colour.

Bargain Alert: Sally Hansen Sugar Coat at Poundland

Bargain Alert: Sally Hansen Sugar Coat at Poundland

I find it more or less impossible to walk past a Poundland without popping in. They so often have such awesome stuff in – if you don’t mind being a bit behind the fashion curve then you can pick up some very cool polish for a fraction of the original price. Way back in September when I was a fledgling blogger I picked up 6 OPI Shatter polishes. I’ll admit, they’re not so useful all the time but my latest find is something I’ve wistfully gazed at on multiple occasions on other blogs: Sugar Coat by Sally Hansen. When I found out these were in Poundland, I was right in there, buying up every colour I could get my hands on!

Spring is Sprung!

Spring is Sprung!

I’ve been trying to keep my polish purchases down lately, but when an email from Nails Inc landed in my inbox about a special offer on spring collection boxsets, I couldn’t help myself. The email listed three special collections of spring colours – 8 full size polishes for £20. I felt instantly head-over-heels for the Heatwave selection.

Bargain Alert: Born Pretty Store Discount Decals

Of all the online retailers of awesome nail art stuff, one that I see very, very often is Born Pretty Store. They have just about everything you could possibly think of and more and it all seems to be really good value for money. I’d never bought anything until I found about this discount decal sale – I’ve seen some fabulous water decals around the web and I’ve finally ordered some to try for myself. I’ll be sure to let you know what they’re like!

I’ve also ordered some really pretty multi-coloured studs. I’ve seen multiple manicures featuring these cute little things (like this one from POW!) and I caved and decided I needed some in my own life. What’s your weakness when you see a bargain?

Born Pretty Store have offered me a discount code of my own – be sure to enter RTMX31 to your next order to get 10% off!
