31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 16: Geometric

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 16: Geometric

We’re over halfway there! And we get a new prompt!

My design for today feels both spurious and not well executed. I nearly trashed it and started again. The trouble is, once you’ve spent ages on something you just want to post it anyway – this challenge is so fast that there isn’t too much room for perfectionism!

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 3: Yellow Nails

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 3: Yellow Nails

I’m back from London! Kate Bush was INCREDIBLE. What a privilege it was to see her! I did special nails which I’ll show you later in the week!

Barry M brought out their new collection of Autumn inspired Gellies just a few weeks ago, and I got my hands on all six of them on Monday night. I couldn’t resist using one today: a fabulous burnt yellow called Mustard:

Tested: Primark False Nails

I caught on Twitter a few weeks ago that someone was trying out some false nails from Primark and that they were pretty good. So when I was in there last I picked up a packet to try them out for myself. At £1 for 24 nails I wasn’t expecting the earth but I was really, really surprised. These nails are great.

Tried This: David Bowie Fishnets and Knitwear

Tried This: David Bowie Fishnets and Knitwear

This will be my last David Bowie post. *sad face* It’s been an adventure getting through all those designs! I’ve done some really interesting stuff and pushed my art a little bit. I’m looking forward to seeing what other things are out there to draw inspiration from!

31 Day Challenge Day 16: Tribal Print – Turtle Dreaming

31 Day Challenge Day 16: Tribal Print – Turtle Dreaming

I’ve never done tribal print nails before but there was only one thing I could possibly do for this – Aboriginal art. My family lived in Australia for a few years when I was very small and I’ve visited twice since then – last time I was with my dad and we hiked the Larapinta Trail out of Alice Springs in the red centre. Australia is a country that is dear to my heart and I’d love to live there some day. On my last trip I picked up a pack of bookmarks of Aboriginal art with the associated stories printed on the back and this one in particular caught my eye:
