Fairytale Pastel Stamping

Fairytale Pastel Stamping

I’d hoped that when I finally posted back in February I was back but it was not to be – life has just been too hectic! I have something for you today, and it is stamping. My stamping plate collection has exploded over the last several months, as has my stamper collection… but more on that another time. When I picked up a few of the most recent Barry M offerings, the Speedy Dry collection, there was one plate that jumped right out at me and begged to be paired with them:

Spooky Stamping

Spooky Stamping

It has been a while since I posted! I’ve been moving house, and then not having any space to paint or photograph nails, and there has been all kinds of other boring and stressful stuff. But enough about me, let’s get back to some nails!

I painted this gorgeous gradient as a base for She Sells Seashells graveyard stencils, but they somehow got mislaid in the move. 😦 Instead I used them as a base for some stamping with a new MoYou London Gothic plate – this one is No. 07. How fab (and different) is this cobweb?

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 16: Geometric

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 16: Geometric

We’re over halfway there! And we get a new prompt!

My design for today feels both spurious and not well executed. I nearly trashed it and started again. The trouble is, once you’ve spent ages on something you just want to post it anyway – this challenge is so fast that there isn’t too much room for perfectionism!

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 11: Polka Dots

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 11: Polka Dots

This is another design that I can’t take any credit for – I was browsing Pinterest for something interesting to do and I came across this pin. I liked the effect of white spots over a white background and the light shade of the base gradient.

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 7: Black & White

I don’t think I can overstate how much of a pain in the ass this design was. It might look cool, but it’s EVIL.  These nails were a NIGHTMARE.

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 5: Blue Nails

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 5: Blue Nails

This has to be one of my favourite designs of late. I can’t claim any credit for it – I spotted the idea on Bite No More the other day and knew it would be perfect for this prompt!

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 3: Yellow Nails

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 3: Yellow Nails

I’m back from London! Kate Bush was INCREDIBLE. What a privilege it was to see her! I did special nails which I’ll show you later in the week!

Barry M brought out their new collection of Autumn inspired Gellies just a few weeks ago, and I got my hands on all six of them on Monday night. I couldn’t resist using one today: a fabulous burnt yellow called Mustard:

Throwback Tri-Polish Tuesday

Throwback Tri-Polish Tuesday

If you cast your mind back all the way to May, which was nearly a month ago already, the Tri-Polish Tuesday colours were Purple, Red and Green. I did three designs which I was chuffed to bits with, and not one of them made it onto the blog in time. May was just one of those months.

So instead, tonight you get all three of them!

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Drugstore

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Drugstore

We don’t really have drugstores here in the UK, so I had to interpret this one a little bit. In this context, I’m figuring what the Americans call a drugstore we would call a pharmacy. A big one like Boots or Superdrug that sell all your toiletries as well as just prescription medication etc. This means to me cheap polish, or at least relatively inexpensive. So I’ve gone for Miss Sporty. I think I picked up these two polishes along with a third for £5. These are not at all expensive. Miss Sporty has a bit of a reputation for being a young person brand rather than a serious one for buying your make up from, but I got these colours because I was trying to match them to a dress at the time and these were the closest I could find. I have apparently used them once before but it was very subtle!
