Born Pretty Store Stamping

I’m on a bit of a stamping kick lately. I’ve bought so many stamping plates over the last several months that I’m not sure how I’ll ever get through them all! One brand I’d never tried before until recently is Born Pretty Store. Their prices are crazy cheap and I was a bit iffy about whether the quality of their plates would be any good. Well this just in: they’re FAB.

Models Own Sweet Shop: Gumballs

Today is the turn of the pink polish of the Sweet Shop collection: Gumballs. Of all the five sweets represented, gumballs are the one that I never really liked. That said, the smell of this polish still makes my mouth water.

Inspired By: Erin Cox Mini Floating Pearl Pendant

One of the amazing items in the goody bag from the recent South West Blog Social was a voucher for a free necklace from Erin Cox. I went over to her shop on Castle Street in Exeter centre to pick it up and had a lovely chat with Laura and Jasmine who work with her. I had a nosey around the workshop, which was a beautiful mess of equipment and shiny things. I love a workshop – it’s great to see where all the magic happens! They had certainly been very busy in the run up to the South West Blog Social handmaking the Mini Floating Pearl Pendant to give away to us lucky bloggers!

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Most Expensive

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Most Expensive

I’m not totally clear on whether this prompt means the polish that you spent the most money on, or the polish with the most expensive retail price. I don’t tend to pay a great deal of attention to retail prices, other than to not buy anything that costs over ÂŁ5, as a rule. Polishes like the Illamasqua one I showed last week (ÂŁ14.50), or Nails Inc which cost ÂŁ12 just seem overpriced to me. As a result, I’m amazing at spotting when something is reduced, and I jump on special offers. I keep a spreadsheet of details about my polishes, including how much I paid for them, and somehow the most money I have spent on a single bottle of polish is a mere ÂŁ6.85. (And even that wasn’t full price!) Hello to Ohana by Tara’s Talons.

The Neverending Pile Challenge: Boutique

Boutique is another theme that seems to need a bit of interpretation. Asking on the Glittah Pirates facebook group, we were given the definition “mass produced indie.” This again seems to mean a heck of a lot so I’m going with “not found on general sale in shops.” Since this excludes about 99.9% of my collection I was down to exactly two polishes. And since one of those is sitting on my partner’s mantelpiece on account of having a broken neck, I was down to one polish. This one.

Review: Born Pretty Store Decals

Welcome to my very first review! This post is long and picture heavy. I hope you’ll stay with me.

Now that my blog has been running for over 6 months and I post regularly and some of you seem to like it, I thought I’d try and get involved with some companies to review things. My first stop: Born Pretty Store. They were kind enough to offer me some of their decals for review, and I picked two designs – a fun Barbie themed set and a full sheet subway map.

Tri-Polish Tuesday: Blue, Yellow & Pink

I’ve been meaning to get around to doing one of these for months! I’m thanking my lucky stars I had a weekend all to myself and I filled it with nail art. It was great!

I’m very pleased with this. The point of Tri-Polish Tuesday is that you have three colours and you’re only allowed to use those, black and white, gold and silver and glitter toppers. The colours for April are Pink, Yellow and Blue. A bit close to primary colours for me and I struggled to think of a design for a while but then I figured I’d just go for a simple gradient. And somehow, three colours have become many!

Happily Ever Frosted Flowers After

Happily Ever Frosted Flowers After

Today is February 26th and as of this moment I have only the first seven days of the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go challenge posted. This month has rather run away with me. The good news is that a lot of the designs are done, I just haven’t posted them. So I shall be back-posting for the next weeks as well as trying to post new designs so that you don’t all just think I posted for February and then abandoned you all. Clear as mud? Good, let’s see some more nails!

This is one from my folder of to-post from just after Christmas – when No-Buy-November was over I took advantage of Tara’s Talons sale and picked up 4 random polishes. Two that looked just made for each other were Frosted Flowers and Happily Ever After. So I ran with those.
